Dates, venue, hours
Cultiva HANFEXPO 2026 takes place from 2 to 4 October at the Marx Halle, Karl-Farkas-Gasse 19, in Vienna's third district. The organisers publish opening hours of 12:00 to 20:00 on Friday, 11:00 to 19:00 on Saturday and 11:00 to 18:00 on Sunday. Admission is restricted to those aged 18 and over.
The combined-ticket format
Cultiva's distinguishing feature is that one ticket covers the trade fair, the congress and the festival. Most European cannabis events separate the business programme from the consumer-facing one, either by day or by badge. Cultiva does not, which produces a floor where exhibitors, growers, congress speakers and weekend visitors mix continuously.
That has trade-offs in both directions. Sourcing conversations happen in a busier environment than a dedicated B2B day would provide. In exchange, the event tends to surface what the Austrian and wider German-speaking hemp scene is actually buying rather than what the trade press says it should be.
Reading Vienna in a shifting region
Cultiva's regional position has become more interesting as its neighbours diverge. Germany's KCanG framework has been running since 2024, with the association model as its supply channel; Czechia's reported personal cultivation framework took effect in January 2026; Switzerland is running authorised pilot trials. Austria sits among all three with a different regime again.
For visitors coming from Germany, one point deserves care. Section 6 KCanG bans advertising and sponsorship for cannabis and for cultivation associations, and German medical exhibitors face separate restrictions under the Heilmittelwerbegesetz. Material collected at an Austrian event does not become lawful to distribute in Germany because it was picked up abroad.
Before you book
Ticket pricing, congress programming and exhibitor lists are published on the official site and typically firm up after the summer. LeafCurrent lists this event with the dates and hours published by the organisers and will update the listing if they change.
